The plan was approved by the Metropolitan Council. In June, <br />1996, the City received a $590,900 Tax Base Revitalization Grant for soil <br />clean-up in industrial areas (Midwest Motor Site and John Allen-Ideal <br />Security Site). In August, 1996, the City Council approved submission of a <br />grant application to assist with the city's Cornerstone Program. A $270,000 <br />Livable Communities Demonstration Grant was received in Novembe'r, <br />1996. In November of 1997 a $100,POO grant application was submitted for <br />the Gateway site for contamination clean up. <br /> <br />1.5. Most of the programs the City Council adopted in relation to the <br />Liveable Communities Program (LCA) in Roseville were originally approved <br />as part of the Vista 2000 (1992-3) and the Comprehensive Plan (1994). <br />The focus has always been to use the approved housing section of the <br />comprehensive plan as a basis for the LCA program. The city's direction <br />has been to collaborate with other agencies. institutions. the private sector <br />(especially the local banks and development/contractor sectors) and the <br />neighborhoods as our program partners to implement the program. <br /> <br />3 <br />
