Mixed-Income Housing, The Vi~lage, Lino Lakes <br /> <br />Model: Mixed-Income Suburban Housing <br /> <br />Project in Brief: <br />· 210 rental apartments, 90 for-sale single-level and 2-story townhouses and 13 live-work 21/2 <br />story townhomes (some live-work) built into blocks, rather than the standard suburban isolated <br />bui Idings. <br />· 20 percent of the housing - 42 of the 210 apartments and 18 of the 90 ownership townhouses- <br />will be affordable at 50 percent and 80 percent of median, respectively. <br />· Design standards for housing, prepared by Caithorpe Associates (through a 1997 LCDA grant) <br />represent a model for developing suburban hOllsing. <br />· Remainder of the 50-acre Village will include senior housing, retail, civic uses and public spaces. <br /> <br />Advisory Committee Comments: <br />· The Village proposal was submitted as a whole (total funding request $1.5 million) and did not <br />rank as highly as proposals 1 thru 5 in this list.
