~

Page 2
Planning Commission
April 14, 1993

The County Road C-2/Snelling Avenue intersection would be
improved by widening County Road C-2. The improvement would
enhance the turning movements onto Snelling Avenue as well as
increase the stacking distance on the west leg of the
intersection.

utilities: ~

Also included in the improvements would be the installation of
watermain in the proposed Lincoln Drive connecting at Terrace
Drive, County Road C-2, and Lydia Avenue. This watermain would
serve'the proposed College Properties project and would provide a
looped system for better water circulation and enhanced fire
protection.

sanitary sewer is also proposed in Lincoln Drive from County Road
,C-2 to the north to serve the College Properties project. storm
sewer would be installed connecting to an existing 54" storm
sewer pipe which discharges into County Ditch 4. There will be
on-site ponding to control the rate of run-off from the site
consistent with requirements of the Rice Creek Watershed District
and our local storm water plan.

County Ditch 4:

Included in the feasibility report were recommended improvements
to County Ditch 4 to increase the capacity of the ditch. The
improvements would include a 20' wide shelf along the east bank
of the ditch. Modifications to the box culvert structure include
constructing a transition area. This will be done by widening
the apron of the box culvert and the channel at the pipe to 20
feet. This modification will reduce the depth of water required
to pass the 100-year flow and reduce the backwater effects on the
ditch system. The modifications are not to be considered as part
of this project at this point, as it is being reviewed by city
staff to determine the need~ The construction of the shelf would
require an additional easement along County Ditch 4.
