-;
(i

July 30, 1993

Ms. Tori Flood
Metropolitan Council
Mears Park Centre
230 E. 5th Street
St. Paul, MN 55101

Dear Ms. Flood:

I am Writing in response to your June 16, 1993 letter concerning the City of Roseville
Comprehensive Plan Amendment for College Properties Inc. The City of Roseville is in the
middle of a major project to review and update its Comprehensive Plan. The completion of
this project has been delayed while the City goes through a visioning process and as we are
implementing a GIS system. The City of Roseville, through its comprehensive plan update
fully intends to address all the Metropolitan Council issues that we are aware of including
strategies to reduce non-point pollution, shoreline regulations, and sanitary sewer issues. It
also should be noted that we are concerned about water quality issues and the conditions that
have been put on the approval of the two most recent projects including the College
Properties, Inc. PUD that storm water ponds be designed to meet Metropolitan Council
standards.

In the interim, the City has passed the attached resolution with the suggested language that
you have sent to me. Also, Roseville will work with the Department of Natural Resources to
adopt revised shoreline regulations consistent with DNR scheduled priorities. The
Metropolitan Council will be notified following the date of their adoption:

The City of Roseville respectfully requests that the Metropolitan Council complete its review
of the City of Roseville Comprehensive Plan Amendment for the College Properties, Inc,
PUD so that this most important project can move forward.

If you have any questions about this matter, please feel free to contact me at 490-2241 or
Dennis Welsch at 490-2232.

Sincerely,

~~31~

Rick Jopke
Assistant Community Development Director
City of Roseville

RJ:cf

2660 CIYIC CE:\TER DRI\OE · ROSEXILLE · ~II:\:\ESOT.\ · 5511.1-1899
612-.490-2200 · F.-\X 612--!90-2270
