The parking demand Is estimated as fol lows: Resident Students (470 stal Is) (50%) 235 stalls Maranatha Hall (1,400 seats) (0.3 spaces/seat) Basketba I I Game (2,000 seats) (0.3 spaces/seat) Total Parking Design Demand, 420 stalls 2.Q~L~!~11~ 1 ,255 stalls The 0.3 parking space/seat requirement for events at Maranatha Hall and the Life and Heal th FI tness Center, although a recommended minimum design standard, is felt to be reasonable and prudent since: a) No additional reduction In parking demand Is prov Ided for on-campus students, whose vehicles are al ready on campus, who would be attending one of the events. b) No additional reduction in parking demand Is prov Ided for the use of buses to get persons to either event. The Amended PUD Plan for Northwestern Col lege ultimately proposes the addition of 565 parking stal Is throughout the campus with over 300 of these stal Is located on the Rosevll Ie portion of the campus, as shown on Exhibit A, In the follow i ng new facll itl es: 1. Twenty- s I x (26) spaces at the south end of the linear lot located between the Main Entrance Roadway and Berntsen Hal I (Identified as Proposed Lot A) to serve primarily on-campus residents and athletic f iel d events. 2. Ninety-eight (98) additional stalls In a new lot located between Hartlll Hall and the proposed Life and Health Fitness Center, Identified as Lot B, to serve on-campus students, commuter students, the Center and, athletic field events. -8- 8621
