<br />civic, and entertainment center for our community. The Roseville City <br />Center Task Force Charge is attached. A Metropolitan Council planning <br />grant for $7,200 was received to help defray planning costs for the <br />redevelopment of this area. (See attached City Center Task Force Charge) <br /> <br />15. County Road C/JRoseplace <br /> <br />County Road C/Roseplace consists of the industrial properties along the <br />south side of County Road C between Snelling and Hamline. There is <br />approximately 30 acres, with an estimated market value of $8.6 million. <br /> <br />The area has experienced a small amount of redevelopment with office <br />condominiums and a small, one story office building. <br /> <br />It is anticipated that when fully redeveloped this area could create <br />approximately 315,000 SF of additional office space and/ or a mix of office <br />and multi-family users with a market value of $12 million. <br /> <br />D. Business Retention and Development Programs: <br /> <br />Redevelopment strategies are only effective if the current business climate is <br />strong. Therefore, focusing on retaining and expanding Roseville's business base <br />is key to the long-term success of the City. Roseville's current retail sector is <br />currently strong with the presence of a regional shopping center. The <br />manufacturing and high technology sectors should be expanded to support <br />Roseville's goals for quality employment. The business retention and <br />development strategies focus on these sectors. <br /> <br />o Continue to actively communicate with the 150 key businesses in Roseville <br />through the Business Link Program, which includes one-on-one visits, <br />monthly faxed newsletter and quarterly business luncheons. <br /> <br />(]) Encourage the Chamber of Commerce to be the support and communication <br />mechanism for the retail community. <br /> <br />o Attract and retain businesses that provide quality jobs with minimal outside <br />storage requirements and process or manufacture their products in an <br />environmentally sensitive manner in the following industry sectors: <br /> <br />Medical- pharmaceutical and biomedical <br />Printing <br /> <br />Roseville Comprehensive Plan - 1999 Update Economic & Redevelopment Plans - Page 12 of 14 <br />
