<br />1 &- K. Minimum Fee: The minimum fee for any permit whether or not such permit is <br />2 mentioned in this Code shall be teft- twenty-five dollars ($l{}-25.00). (Ord. 873, 12- <br />3 22-80; amd. 1995 Code) <br /> <br />4 901.10: STREET ASSESSMENTS: <br /> <br />5 A. No permit shall be issued to construct any building upon any lot or tract of land unless <br />6 the Finance Officer shall have certified: <br /> <br />7 1. That such lot or tract of land has been assessed for the cost of construction of any <br />8 public roads, curbs or sidewalks contiguous to said lot or tract of land. <br /> <br />9 2. If no assessment has been levied for such construction cost, the proceedings for <br />10 levying such assessments have been or will be completed in due course. <br /> <br />11 RIf no such certificate can be issued by the Finance Officer, no permit to construct any <br />12 building shall be issued unless the applicant shall pay a fee which shall be equal to the <br />13 portion of the cost of construction of the public road, curb or sidewalk which would <br />14 be assessable against said lot or tract to be served by such road, curb or sidewalk. <br />15 Said assessable cost is to be determined by the Public Works Director upon the same <br />16 basis as any assessment previously levied against other property for the road, curb or <br />17 sidewalk, including interest at a rate equal to the interest rate of the original <br />18 assessment from the date of the original assessment and continuing for a period of <br />19 twenty (20) years or the amount of years the assessment was payable, whichever is <br />20 less. Interest may be waived or decreased when it is determined by the Public Works <br />21 Director that the improvement was not subject to utilization until a later date. (Ord. <br />22 745, 12-30-74) <br /> <br />23 901.11: DEPOSIT FOR PROTECTION OF CONCRETE CURBS, TO ENSURE <br />24 CLEANING OF STREETS AND TO ENSURE COMPLIANCE WITH BIDLDING <br />25 CODE: <br /> <br />26 At any time a permit is applied for on any new construction and on any remodeling <br />27 project or addition which in the reasonable opinion of the Designated Building Official <br />28 Chief Code Enforcement Officer involves more than fifty percent (50%) of the cost <br />29 evaluation of the existing structure, the permit shall also require a cash deposit. In the <br />30 case of a permit issued for a project involving a dwelling or accessory structure, the <br />31 amount of such deposit shall be four hundred dollars ($400.00). In the case of any other <br />32 project, the deposit shall be the greater of four hundred dollars ($400.00) or one percent <br />33 (1 %) of the total valuation as determined from the building permit, but not exceeding two <br />34 thousand dollars ($2,000.00). Such deposit shall be required and applied as necessary to: <br /> <br />35 A. Protect against damage to the abutting street, concrete curb or other City facility <br />36 occurring by reason of such construction, and <br /> <br />37 R Defray the cost of cleaning streets if the City is required to do so. <br /> <br />10 <br />
