<br /> <br /> <br /> <br />ARTICLE VI. PIGS <br /> <br />Sec. 10-406. Minimum size farm area required. <br /> <br />It shall be unlawful for any person to keep, raise, breed or feed pigs on any farm or within <br />any area zoned farm residential, unless such farm or farm area, owned or leased, is at least 40 <br />acres in size, except as provided in this article. <br />(Code 1982, S 7-196) <br /> <br />Sec. 10-407. Permit required. <br /> <br />In order to keep, raise, breed or feed pigs on any farm ofless than 40 acres in area, a <br />permit shall first be obtained from the city council. Application for a permit to keep pigs shall <br />be made to the city clerk, and such application shall set forth the following: <br /> <br />The full name, date of birth and address of the applicant. <br /> <br />(2) The legal description of the property upon which pigs are to be kept. <br /> <br />The number of pigs the applicant proposes to maintain on the premises. <br /> <br />(4) A complete description of facilities on the premises, including the source of water <br />supply, kind of soil, comprehensive data as to drainage, and 10cation of all residences <br />within a 500-foot radius of the proposed piggery. <br /> <br />(b) The applicant shall pay to the city such application fee as may be imposed, set, <br />established and fixed by the city council, by resolution, from time to time, which sum shall be <br />paid at the time of making application for the permit and shall be deemed the first annual <br />license fee. <br />(Code 1982, S 7-197) <br /> <br />Sec. 10-408. Public hearing on permit application. <br /> <br />Before any permit to maintain a piggery or to keep pigs on any farm smaller in size than 40 <br />acres is granted by the city council pursuant to this article, the councilmay, in its discretion, <br />hold a public hearing after notifying all property owners, within 500 feet, of such hearing. <br />(Code 1982, S 7-198) <br /> <br />Sec. 10-409. Annual renewal permit fees. <br /> <br />Any person having a permit under this article to keep pigs on a farm smaller than 40 acres <br />in size shall pay an annual permit fee imposed, set, established and fixed by the city council, <br />from time to time, by resolution. This fee shall not be prorated, and the license year shall be <br />concurrent with the calendar year, with renewal permit fees due on or before .January 10 of <br />each year. <br />(Code 1982, S 7-199) <br /> <br />CDI0:21 <br />
