Human Rights Commission Minutes <br />February 18, 2015 – Draft Minutes <br />Page 7 of 9 <br />272 <br />Chair Groff suggested contacting the real estate organizations and see if they would be interested <br />273 <br />in partnering for this project. <br />274 <br />275 <br />Commissioner Bachhuber thought a Commissioner should be involved with the Task Force. <br />276 <br />277 <br />Ms. Collins stated Commissioners are welcome to attend the meetings. These are considered <br />278 <br />Staff meetings and they are held the second Tuesday of the month. <br />279 <br />280 <br />Chair Groff stated he would attend the meeting for the Commission and report to the <br />281 <br />Commission. <br />282 <br />283 <br />Commissioner Singleton stated if Chair Groff was unable to attend these meetings he would be <br />284 <br />available. <br />285 <br />286 <br />287 <br />New Business <br />288 <br />289 <br />a.Discuss Parade Involvement <br />290 <br />291 <br />Chair Groff provided a drawing as a potential idea for a “float” for the parade. The Commission <br />292 <br />would need a flatbed and they could make signs. He suggested having some younger people and <br />293 <br />kids involved. The budget for this would be about $150.00. He would talk to the KOM to see if <br />294 <br />the dancers would be interested in returning this year. <br />295 <br />296 <br />Ms. Collins stated the application for the parade is available and the sooner it is returned the <br />297 <br />earlier in the parade they would be. <br />298 <br />299 <br />b.Report on Recent Community Events/Invite to Upcoming Community Events <br />300 <br />301 <br />Chair Groff reviewed the events and deadlines for the Human Rights Commission. <br />302 <br />303 <br />Chair Groff announced the open positions on the City’s Commissions. <br />304 <br />305 <br />Ms. Collins stated there are three applicants for the open position with the HRC. There are no <br />306 <br />nominations for the HRC Award. Minnesota Acts Now presents Healing event will be held <br />307 <br />March 15 at the Activity Center in Brooklyn Park at 4:00.
