All areas of land other than that occupied by <br />building and/or hardstand (parking areas and driveways) <br />shall be landscaped with sod and/or mulch and/or rock <br />material in planting beds where appropriate. <br /> <br />The minimum number of overstory trees on any given site <br />shall be 1 overstory tree per 50 feet of parking lot <br />frontage plus trees required for parking lot islands. <br />Other understory trees, shrubs, flowers and ground <br />covers deemed appropriate for a complete quality <br />landscape treatment of the site shall be included in <br />addition to the required minimum of overs tory trees. <br /> <br />Species <br /> <br />1. All trees used in site developments shall be <br />indigenous to the appropriate hardiness zone and <br />physical characteristics of the site. <br /> <br />2. All deciduous trees proposed to satisfy the <br />minimum requirements of this policy shall be <br />long-lived hardwood species. <br /> <br />3. The compliment of trees fulfilling the <br />requirements of this policy shall be not less than <br />25 percent overstory deciduous and not less than 25 <br />percent coniferous. <br /> <br />Sodding and Ground Cover <br /> <br />All areas not otherwise improved in accordance with <br />approved site plans shall be sodded.
