<br />13. ~round Sign. A ground sign is a sign that is mounted <br />on the ground, attached either to footings or a base, with no <br />open space between the ground and the sign face. <br /> <br />14. Contractor Sign. A non-illuminated sign announcing the <br />names of architects, engineers, contractors, or other individuals <br />or firms involved with the construction, alteration, or repair of <br />a building or property, or announcing the character of the <br />building enterprise or purpose for which the building is <br />intended, but not including the advertisement of any product. <br /> <br />15. Roof Signs. Any sign erected upon or projecting above <br />the roof line of a structure to which it is attached. For <br />purposes of this Chapter, the roof line shall be considered the <br />top of the cornice of a flat roof, the eave line of a pitched <br /> <br />roof. <br /> <br />16. Real Estate Signs. Any sign erected to advertise the <br />sale, rental or lease of a building or property. <br /> <br />17. Political Sign. A sign or poster announcing candidates <br />seeking political office, or issues to be voted upon at a <br />political election. <br /> <br />18. Directional Sign. A sign which contains no advertising <br />and is intended to facilitate the safe movement of pedestrians <br />and vehicles into, out of, and around the site on which the sign <br />is located. <br /> <br />IV. <br /> <br />Section 14.070 is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />14.070. Rotating Signs Prohibited. Rotating signs are <br />prohibited in all districts. <br /> <br />V. <br /> <br />Section 14.080 is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />14.080. Signs Conflicting with Traffic Signals Prohibited. <br /> <br />No sign shall be erected that, by reason of position, shape or <br />color, would interfere in any way with the proper functioning or <br />purpose of a traffic sign or signal. All displays shall be <br />shielded to prevent light from being directed at oncoming traffic <br />in such brilliance as to impair the vision of any driver. This <br />includes indoor signs which are visible from public streets. <br /> <br />2 <br />
