Human Rights Commission Minutes <br />April 15, 2015 <br />Page 6 of 8 <br />Chair Groff volunteered to be on the Parade Committee. <br />Commissioner Slade stated she would support asking the KOM dancers to participate. <br />Ms. Collins stated she would contact them. <br />New Business <br />a. Report on Recent Community Events/Review of Upcoming Events <br />Ms. Collins stated the City is launching Roseville University. Each Department would be doing <br />a topic and this will be starting May 7. People can register for any of the events but some are <br />limited in size. <br />Commissioner Slade asked if the Human Rights Commission would fit in the Administration <br />course ar if they could have their own class next year. <br />Ms. Collins stated this was something that may be possible. The Human Rights Commission <br />will be presented as an option to get involved in the community. <br />Chair Groff reviewed the Human Rights Commission events and deadlines coming up. <br />Ms. Collins stated she had gotten an email from the Shoreview Staff Liaison to the Human <br />Rights Commission asking if the Roseville Human Rights Commission would be interested in <br />partnering with the Shoreview Human Rights Commission to hold an event commemorating the <br />SOt" anniversary of the passage of the Voting Rights Act on August 6, 2015. They are asking the <br />Commission to promote the event and advertise it. <br />Commissioner Sin�leton moved and Commissioner Carey seconded a motion to approve <br />nartnerin� with the Shoreview Human Ri�hts Commission to hold an event <br />2015. <br />Commissioner Slade suggested they contact the League of Women Voters so they can register <br />people to vote at the event. <br />The motion was called to a vote. The motion passed unanimously. <br />Chair's Report <br />Chair Groff stated the event at the Library regarding Homeless Youth in Minnesota had been <br />very educational. <br />
