Chair Stoner noted that this would involve storing and re -
8
moving carts as needed from the basement area versus how they were stored up -
9
stairs at this time. Chair Stoner advised that the intent would be for maintenance
10
activities to remain in a separate building as done now.
11
12
At the request of Councilmember Willmus, Chair Stoner advised that the intent
13
would be for lawn mowers and similar equipment to be stored in a separate facili-
14
ty as done currently.
15
16
Mayor Roe thanked the Commission for their work and noted the additional
17
homework they were now tasked with going forward.
18
19
Councihnember Laliberte also thanked the Commission for their work on the
20
wildlife ordinance and management policy recently enacted by the City Council.
21
22
Public Comment
23
Mayor Roe recognized Finance Commission Vice Chair Justin Rohloff, and
24
Commissioners Angela Byrne and Edwin Hodder present tonight and coming
25
forward to speak.
26
27
Draft Park Capital Funding Policy (Attachment A)
28
Vice Chair Rohloff referenced an email previously provided to the City Council
29
from Finance Director Miller outlining the three differences between the Finance
30
Commission and Park & Recreation Commission's recommendations.
31
32
Vice Chair Rohloff further advised that the Finance Commission met after receiv-
33
ing the Park & Recreation Commission's recommendations, as presented to the
34
City Council tonight during their joint meeting, and had ratified their initial unan-
35
imous support to remain with their three original recommendations. Vice Chair
36
Rohloff noted this included a maximum allocation in the Park Dedication Fund of
37
$900,000 versus $1 million in the park acquisition fund as outlined for park ac-
38;quisition.
Vice Chair Rohloff stated that the Finance Commission could not sup -
39
' port retaining a $1 million balance based on historically averages over the last 6-7
40
years; and at which time there had been no allocation for CIP needs during that
41
same time.
42
43
In response to the Park & Recreation Commission's Attachment A, Vice Chair
44
Rohloff provided the scenarios previously provided by the Finance Commission
45
for the Park Improvement Fund (PIP) based on assumptions, showing a $5 million
