Ms.
Stewart noted that the facility would offer office and cominunity space.
Councilmember McGehee reiterated her support for this type of project and the
excellent amenities this site offered, provided safe access could be provided to ac-
cess those amenities.
Councilmeinber Etten asked if there were any provisions for services in the build-
ing as residents aged and needed more services; of if the intent was to lceep it
strictly an affordable apartment building.
Ms. Stewart referenced Good Samaritan's aging-in-place philosophy and mission
for providing services through Good Samaritan as an option (e.g. home-based
care services). However, Ms. Stewart stated she was uncertain if residents in
these affordable rental units could afford those services; other than some of the
health-monitoring services Good Samaritan anticipated offering. Ms. Stewart
noted that part of Good Samaritan's mission is to try to help residents with ser-
vices if and when needed.
Councilmember Laliberte noted the feedbacic she was hearing from the coinmuni-
ty was that this type of housing was needed, as well as creating a community to
serve those not only wishing to inove into Roseville, but those wishing to remain
in the cominunity as well. Councilmember Laliberte noted market studies indi-
cate this is currently a housing stock gap in Roseville; but she shared Coun-
cilinember Willmus' questions and concerns about the City of Roseville's role in
financing the project.
Mayor Roe thanked Ms. Stewart and Ms. Raper for their presentation, noting they
would continue to work with staff on the next steps. Based on the City Council's
recent project history, Mayor Roe noted it would be helpful — early on in the pro-
cess — that the City Council and public were well-aware of potential funding
sources and gaps to help inform their decision-malcing as to what they could or
could not support. Mayor Roe noted that as grant applications and other things
move forward, the City Council and/or public often lost tracic of the bigger pic-
ture. Mayor Roe noted that at least from the City Council's perspective it was
very helpful to have a good picture upfront form which to work. Mayor Roe ex-
pressed the City Council's anticipation of Good Samaritan representatives return-
ing in the near future as next steps are outlined.
Ms. Stewart and Ms. Raper thanked Mayor Roe and Councilmeinbers for their
feedbacic.
d.
