<br />2. Size. The surface of any temporary sign shall not <br />exceed seventy five (75) square feet. This area <br />shall be in addition to permanent, window and <br />other signage allowed elsewhere in this chapter. <br /> <br />3. Denial of Permit. No such permit will be allowed <br />if it interferes with the use and enjoyment of <br />adjacent land or constitutes a danger to the <br />public. In the event the Chief Code Enforcement <br />Officer determines that such a condition exists, <br />the permit shall not be granted. <br /> <br />4. Appeal of Denial. The Chief Code Enforcement <br />Officer's decision may be appealed to the City <br />Council. <br /> <br />H. HOLIDAY SIGNS: Signs or displays which contain or <br />depict messages pertaining to a national, state or <br />religious holiday and no other matter, may be displayed <br />over a period not to exceed a total of 60 days per <br />calendar year. The aggregate total area of such signs <br />shall not exceed 50 square feet. <br /> <br />I. CITY AND PUBLIC SIGNS: Except for traffic-related <br />slgnage, all permanent City, school, or other <br />governmental unit signage including flags must be <br />approved by the City Council. <br /> <br />J. SIGNS WITHOUT FRAMES: Signs which have letters or <br />graphics mounted directly on a wall or fascia or in <br />such a way as to be without a frame shall be permitted <br />to exceed the normal sign size required by forty <br />percent (40%). The dimensions for calculating the <br />square footage shall be in the area extending six <br />inches (6") beyond the periphery formed around such <br />letters or graphics in a plane figure bounded by <br />straight lines connecting the outermost points. Each <br />surface utilized to display a message or to attract <br />attention shall be measured as a separate sign. (Ord. <br />723, 4-12-74) <br /> <br />K. DIRECTIONAL SIGNS: Directional signs may be <br />incorporated into a development including information <br />such as traffic directions, house numbers, management <br />office location or other information necessary to <br />direct persons to facilities or areas within the <br />development provided; however, that such signs shall <br />not exceed four and one-half (4-1/2) square feet in <br /> <br />6 <br />
