League of MN Human Rights Commissions Annual Meeting Report <br />Commissioner Singleton provided the Commission with an update on the MN Human Rights <br />Commission Annual Meeting. He stated he had been elected as Vice-President of the Board and <br />Executive Day to Day Operations and Chair Groff had been elected as the Board Secretary of <br />Executive Operations. <br />Chair Groff stated one of the goals of the League of MN Human Rights Commission for next <br />year was to go and visit different Commissions. <br />d. HRC Award Publicity <br />Commissioner Bachhuber stated she had met with the City's Communications Department to <br />discuss ways to advertise the HRC Award. She asked if one of the Commissioners would be <br />willing to work with the Communications Department in regards to what the Commission would <br />be looking for in terms of content. <br />Ms. Collins reviewed sample warding that was specific to what the award was for. <br />Commissioner Thao suggested this be something the Programming Committee could assist with <br />this. <br />Commissioner Bachhuber explained the Committee that is responsible far reviewing the <br />proposals or applications should be the ones that providing the content for the advertising. <br />Ms. Collins suggested that the flyers or other advertising include examples of what the HRC is <br />looking for. <br />Commissioner Carey suggested the Committee determine what they would like to focus on for <br />that year and work with the Communications Department for advertising for that year. <br />e. School District Demographic Report <br />Commissioner Thao reviewed the School District Demographic Report that had been compiled <br />in October 2014 and the changing demographics of Roseville. <br />Commissioner Slade asked if the English learner student needs were being met. <br />Commissioner Thao felt the resources that have been put in place were meeting these needs. <br />223 Commissioner Bachhuber stated she had reached out to Dr. Wauneta Hoskins, the Director of <br />224 Integration and Equity for the school district, and reminded her that the Human Rights <br />225 Commission would be willing to collaborate with initiatives that related to human rights. <br />226 <br />
