There being no additional nominations Commissioner Singleton closed the floor for nominations. The motion to elect Commissioner Thao to serve as Vice Chair for 2015 was called to a vote. The motion passed unanimously. c. Discuss Committee Assignments Commissioner Thao stated the Commission use to have Committee assignments for the Programming Committee, Youth Committee, Operation Committee, and Outreach Committee. The Commission has gotten away from utilizing the Committees and she would like to suggest the Commission move back to working with the Committees. Commissioner Singleton stated the Youth Committee and the Operations Committee had been standing committees and the Operation Committee members were the Chair, Vice Chair, and the Leads for the Programming Committee and the Outreach Committee. Commissioner Bachhuber stated the Commissioners have been assigned to Committees since April but they have not been meeting. The Outreach Committee members are Vice Chair Becker, Commissioner Slade, and Commissioner Bachhuber. Vice Chari Becker is the Chair of this committee. The Programming Committee members are Commissioner Singleton, Commissioner Dao, and Chair Groff. The minutes do not reflect who would be the Chair of the Programming Committee. Commissioner Thao stated she would not be in favor of assigning someone as the Chair of each committee. Commissioner Bachhuber asked for clarification on the role of the Committees and if anyone could be involved with the Committees. Commission Thao stated Commissioners can attend any of the Committee meetings but if there are more than three (3) Commissioners present the meeting would need to be noticed properly. Ms. Collins expressed concerns regarding the functionality of the Committees at this time since everything the Commission has been working on would fall under the Programming Committee. Chair Groff stated his opinion was that less got accomplished with Committees. Commissioner Carey stated the way things have worked over the last year have been when a Commissioner has an idea and asks for help, the Commissioners who are interested and available volunteer to form a type of committee.
