inform the City and each dwelling owner or manager the day and <br />approximate time the dwelling is scheduled to receive service. <br />Curbside Collection <br />Residents shall place recycling carts at curbside or at the alley on <br />collection day, placing the cart with the handle toward the house and <br />the lid opening toward street. The Contractor shall collect from each <br />participation household all acceptable materials.. The Driver is <br />required to place the emptied cart back down in the same curbside <br />location as set by the resident. In no case is the cart to be left in the <br />street. <br />Walk-up service shall be provided at no additional charge for all <br />customers who request it. The City will compile a list of seniors, <br />disabled and/or special needs residents who request such service. <br />The Contractor must, at least once per quarter, or as agreed upon by <br />the City and the Contractor, conduct curbside recycling cart checks. <br />Geographic regions for cart checks must rotate between each <br />recycling zone. The Contractor shall audit the contents by visually <br />inspecting the material of carts from at least 25 households and leave <br />education tags if any Non -Targeted Materials are found in the carts. <br />A log shall be kept of all resident addresses where education tags <br />were left and the addresses shall be included in the annual report to <br />the City. <br />Procedure for Unacceptable Recvclables <br />If Contractor determines that a resident has set out unacceptable <br />recyclables, the driver shall use the following procedures: <br />Curbside <br />Contractor shall leave the unacceptable recyclables and leave an <br />"education tag" indicating acceptable materials and the proper <br />method of preparation (Note: a copy of the tag is to be included <br />with the proposal). <br />If the unacceptable recyclables have been tipped into the collection <br />truck, the driver shall record the address of the stop. The Contractor <br />shall send a letter to the resident noting the unacceptable recyclables <br />and providing information on what are accepted recyclables. The <br />address shall be recorded on a form acceptable to the City. <br />Contractor shall report the addresses to the City Recycling <br />Coordinator at the end of each month (Note: a copy of the form is to <br />be included with the proposal). <br />F <br />
