•

. October 10, 1983
-3-
11. Howe - 4$4-3244. Gordie Howe was in to inform us that he is working on an
arrangement for the purchase of the remainder of the Country Kitchen land
on the west side of the restaurant (on Rice Street), and combining it with
the Richter prope rty, which is a long, 100' wide strip contiguous to TH 36
ri ht-of-wa (south of the Count Kitchen ro ert) He was thinking of
g Y rY P P . •
developing a mixture of multi-fami.ly housing townhouses and office buildings
on the site. We suggested that he do a multi-family housinq project only,
and that the land cantiguous to Rice Street could be developed for office
inasmuch as this is shown on the Comp rehensive Plan as commercial. He is
going to continue to review the possibilities and be back with preliminazy
development plans. We agreed there would be no principal access from the
west off of Marion Street, which is a single-f_amily dEvelopment area.
12. Suri - 483-6583. Shashi Suri is an architect lookina at the possibilities
of developing the B-1 zoned land west of Rice Stret, behind Albr.marle
Street. There is an obvious storm drainage problem through the property
which wil.l require an overall solution. We suggested that he hire an
engineering consultant to reviw this question, perhaps using the
corsultant that has done p re vious drainage studies in the areaa
13. Franer - 484-2533. Vik Franer lives a 218
proposes to divide his 166.47' lot frontage
his home on the east side of the 1ot and his
dividable on a reasonable basis.
West County Road B-2, and
on County Road B-2. He has
property would appear to be
14. Tucci - 771-0704..Tacci is a contractor working for Edward Walfoort,
owner of the property at 2983 Mildred Drive. He had prepared prelimi.nary
plans for a second-story addition to his house which would appear to vary
from 21' to 32' clistance from the shorn of Langdon Lake. This lot has 90'
of frontage, and appears to have soil and drainage problems on the norther.ly
site of the house whre expansion might be contemplated. His pla.n included
developmnt of a large deck on the second floor, which would be extended
even closer to the site. We suggested this might not be appropriate in
view of the intent of the Shoreline Zoning Ordinance, in which regulations
require a new construction that a hause be set back 75' from the water.
Suggested possible expansion of the house to the north, rather than the
second-story addition, whi.ch will be vezy conspicuous from the lake itself.
He is going to consider alternate plan arrangements, and may file a
shoreline zoning application at a late r time. We noted that if the
soil and drainage conditions are going to constitute th hardship which
would require a second-floor addition, that these details should be verified
in a survey as required in shoreline regulations.
15. Mathews - 483-6971. Mark Mathews from Group W Cable and Randy Rosauer,
construction manager, were in to discuss .he site development of their
facility at the Owasso School. We discussed parking arran gements, land-
scaping, window treatment, signage, and the construction of a p roposPd
35' x 25' garage on the site. It appears the redevelopment of tlZis
building is proceeding well, within the ordinance provisions as approved
by the Planning Commission and Council.
