Office Hours
February 26, March 5 and 12, 19863

March 18, 1986
5. Rosewood, 636-8050
Ted Yoch, President of Rosewood, was in with Joyce Kuchen-
meister and Greg Schneider. They were in to discuss an
electronic sign for the new United Savings and Loan office
to occupy the old First Federal Savings and Loan site north
of Rosedale. The sign will be programmed to provide time
and temperature similar to the existing sign. We noted that
if the sign is to be used to offer intermittent messages,
that a variance would be required.
The proposed .gn is capable of running a continuous message
across th sign. We noted that the City will determine a
policy with respect to such signage, and that in the mean-
time such running messages will not be allowed. We reviewed
this question with the ity Attorey, who concurs that it
comes within te classification of a"flashing sign" which
is prohibited .n the code.
6. Krier, 596-2276
DicC Krier is a planner with the Roger Derrick Company, and
is looking for a multi-family Senior Citizns' housing site
in the Roseville ara. They are in the process of building
a 112 unit structure for low and moderate income in Eden
Prairie, where the rents ran;ge trom $389 to $460 (one
bedroom) and $500-$600 for the two bedroom. Tlis project is
a seventeen units per ace, in a three stoxy wood frame
structure, with brick vneer. Parking is a one to one.
We examined potential locations in Roseville. There are, of
course, relati, vely few undeveloped multi-family housing
sites available in the Ciy. Such a site near shopp.ng
sexvices is evn more difficul. Dick is going to check ot
several possibilities that we reviewed with him.
7. Sloat, 474-4109
Tynn Sloat is an archi.tect who is preparing plans for renno-
vation of th NanKin Express Restaurart to a new "Skippers"
Seafood Rsstaurant. They are going to prepare he appropriate
site plans and interior plans for further staf review. The
restaurant was proposed to have 94 seats.
8.
