October 29, 1986 age
The propse to rent a portion of the buildin t
g o Apache
Control Systems, a wholesale distribution operation. We
looked into ways additional parking could be added, which
they fel will be needed..
4. Keenan, 571-5861
Tim Keenan represents A and G Enterprises, Inc., which is
owned largely by the Gearman family of White Bear. They own
the structure originally built by Vertimag at 2715 Patton
Road. They purchased it in January, 1986. Rod Benu was the
leasing agent and leased about a third of the building to
Arrow loving and Storage. The land is zoned indusrial,
within which "warehousing" is a permitted use.
The problem is that the way they operate this moving and
storage company, there appears to be a significant number of
trucks kept there over night and for longer periods of tine
in the parking area on the east sid of the building. They
had excerised their option to buy an additinal sixty-six
foot strip of land to the ast of thm with the intent, as I
understand it, to park additional trucks on that property.
We informed them that this parking of trucks as a principal
use is not allowed, unZess a Special Use Permit is issued for
a trucking terminal.
We discussed the City's current feasibility study to extend
Patton Road further to the north. Mr. Keenan agreed that
such a street would benefit their property, and he didn't
think they would oppose it. We also discussed was in which
a new sewer connection could be made to the Roseville system
when Patton Road is extended. He has discussed this with
Charlie Honchell. The road extension may make t easier for
him to connect, and therefore he would rather not connect
this Fall as was originally proposed and agreed upon with Mr.
Honchell. Charlie says the elevation of the sewer will be
the criteria.
We set a time two .eeks from now for the staff to go over to
the structure to review he operation of the storage company.
Dave Janisch noted that the Public Hearing for the extension
of Patton Road is planned for December, 1986. I noted i feel
the extenison af this road will be helpful to the orderly
deelopment of the William Brothers Pipeline property to the
north, nowthat they have made a decision to sell portions of
that land.
5. Nordby, 487-3281
Ken iordby, architect, was with in John Olson of his office
to review prliminary plans they prepared for alternate ways
in which to expand the Legion Club in Roseville. The Club
• now has 6,300 square fet of space, and a proposed addition
would be approximately 7,300 square feet. They shQwed us two
possible alternatives. One is to build on the top of the
existing Club, the other is to extend it easterly.
