Commissioner Carey stated she would need about 3 weeks to review all of the essays. Ms. Collins stated there was enough time to extend the process into April and have the presentation at the second City Council meeting in May. Chair Groff stated this process should be completed prior to the new Commissioners starting in April. Commissioner Carey stated she would put together an Excel spreadsheet for the Commissioners to enter their scores on. Youth Commissioner Cederberg asked what the maximum number of points would be. Commissioner Carey stated the highest score would be 22. It was the consensus of the Commission to have the essays read and scored 1 week prior to the April Commission meeting. New Business a. Presentation from Advocates for Human Rights Chair Groff asked the Commission what level of participation they would like to have with the Advocates for Human Rights project. Commissioner Slade stated she likes the approach they are taking to get the community involved and she would be interested in facilitating for the second community dialogue and submitting questions for these events. Commissioner Carey asked how they would be able to get those residents who are reluctant to attend and participate in these discussions. Chair Groff stated there are no guaranteed ways to get these residents to attend. Commissioner Christiansen moved, seconded by Commissioner Carey to support the McCarrons Neighborhood Association and the Advocates for Human Rights with the Community Conversation series they have received a grant for and Commissioners to attend and provide questions if possible. Commissioner Carey asked for additional details on the first dialogue date. Chair Groff stated there would not be an interpreter at the first dialogue so it may not be something the Commission would benefit from attending. He encouraged Commissions to attend the second dialogue because there would be interpreters. The motion carried unanimously. b. Report of Recent Community Events/Review of Upcoming Events Commissioner Christiansen stated the Volunteer Celebration on Thursday March 3. This is for City volunteers and is not open to the public.
