Ms. Collins stated February 29 there would be a free workshop for parents of youth <br />living with mental illness. The event is in Forest Lake and is sponsored by the <br />National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). <br />Chair Groff suggested putting the information for this event on the City's website and <br />to send the information to those residents that had attended the City's community <br />conversations on mental illness last year. <br />Commissioner Slade stated she had these emails and would forward this. <br />Youth Commissioner Cederberg stated the HRC Events calendar shows the Council <br />recognition of Essay Contest winners on April 11. <br />Ms. Collins stated she would change this date. <br />Chair Groff stated the City Council would be doing interviews for new Commissioners <br />at their March 7 meeting. <br />Ms. Collins stated the Council will appoint additional Youth Commissioners when they <br />fill the other vacancies at their March 28 meeting. <br />c. Discuss ��Forward Into Light" Film Viewing at Ramsey County Library <br />Chair Groff stated it was suggested to host the screening August 18 because this is <br />the anniversary of the adoption of the 19th Amendment giving women the right to <br />vote. The Commission would support and promote this event. <br />Commissioner Carev moved, seconded bv Commissioner Slade to approve <br />the HRC supporting and promoting the ��Forward Into Liuht"film viewing at <br />Ramsey Countv. The motion carried unanimouslv. <br />Ms. Collins stated she would add August 18 to the Commission's calendar of events. <br />d. Review 2016 Calendar of Events <br />Commissioner Christiansen stated she would not be available for the March 16 <br />Commission meeting. She asked if the meeting could be rescheduled. <br />Commissioner Carey asked if they could cancel the March meeting to provide more <br />time for review of the essays. <br />Chair Groff stated they could have a Commission meeting but they would not be able <br />to vote on items without a quorum present. He suggested leaving the meeting date <br />as March 16 because there will not be items on the agenda requiring a vote. April 18 <br />is the Naturalization Ceremony and he encouraged Commissioners to attend. The <br />Rosefest Parade is scheduled for June 29. <br />Commissioner Christiansen asked if the Commission should contact other immigrant <br />groups to walk with the Commission since they would be contacting the KOM. <br />Chair Groff stated Commissioners could contact other groups. <br />
