Regular City Council Meeting <br />Monday, May 9, 2016 <br />Page 17 <br />Councilmember McGehee opined she didn't find that necessary, opining it would <br />only serve to delay getting this in place for another 2-3 months, and to be availa- <br />ble for ongoing projects. <br />Councilmember Willmus suggested running it by both advisory commissions. <br />Without objection, staff was duly directed to seelc input from both commissions as <br />indicated. <br />Mayor Roe noted that this ordinance change would need to come back before the <br />City Council anyway to add "private" to existing language. <br />Interim Community Development Director Collins advised that staff could seelc <br />feedback from the two bodies as indicated; and inake minor ordinance changes <br />relatively quickly. However, Ms. Collins asked that the discussion points be me- <br />morialized via a resohition or policy to serve as a gl.iiding document for staff. <br />Specific to boulevard trees, City Planner Paschke advised that language would <br />need modification accordingly as staff reviewed the current ordinance as well as <br />adding "private" to the language. <br />Discussion ensued regarding meeting schedules of the Tree Board and Public <br />Works Commission; how soon action could take place on the ordinance and poli- <br />cy as two different documents; with staff directed for the policy to be available to <br />the City Council at their June 13, 2016 joint meeting with the Parlcs and Recrea- <br />tion Coinmission <br />16. City Manager Future Agenda Review <br />City Manager Trudgeon provided a preview of upcoming agenda items. <br />Discussion included armory tours with Councilmembers able to tour the facility and re- <br />ceive information without conducting any business or formulating decisions, whether or <br />not a quorum was present for the tour, and not intended as a meeting under the provisions <br />of the Open Meeting Law. <br />Councilmember Willmus stated his preference, when scheduling any meeting where a <br />quorum of the City Council may be in attendance, that it be duly noticed. <br />At the request of Mayor Roe, City Manager Trudgeon confirmed that staff would include <br />preliminary savings opportunities from Department Heads as part of upcoming budget <br />priority discussions. Councilmember Willmus also requested that discussion include an <br />update on outstanding or settled Ramsey County property tax appeals. <br />At the request of Councilmember Laliberte, City Manager Trudgeon advised that staff <br />wasn't yet ready for more specific updates of the PPP other than ongoing updates of the <br />
