She would recommend having Jason Sole <br />49 <br />speak at a community event. <br />50 <br />51 <br />Chair Groff stated the Commission would discuss their planning for the remaining year and get <br />52 <br />in touch with the Coalition on any projects they may be able to partner in. <br />53 <br />54 <br />Ms. Lapcinski stated the Second Prison Project would be hosting a 5K walk/run in Minneapolis <br />55 <br />to bring awareness to the community. <br />56 <br />57 <br />Commissioner Carey asked what the proceeds from the 5K walk/run would be used for. <br />58 <br />59 <br />Ms. Lapcinski stated Second Prison Project is not expecting to make money during the event. <br />60 <br />They are doing this in partnership with Active.com to build awareness. <br />61 <br />62 <br />Approve Minutesof February and MarchMeetings <br />63 <br />64 <br />Youth Commissioner Cederberg stated for the February minutesinline 420and the March <br />65 <br />minutes in line 116change “the last name for Marcus to “Lowry”. <br />66 <br />67 <br />CommissionerCareymoved and Commissioner Christiansenseconded a motion to <br />68 <br />approve the February 24, 2016meeting minutes and the March 16, 2016 meeting minutes <br />69 <br />as amended. Motion passed unanimously. <br />70 <br />71 <br />Public Comment on Items Not on Agenda <br />72 <br />73 <br />There being no one wishing to address the Commission of items not on the agenda, Chair Groff <br />74 <br />moved to the next agenda item. <br />75 <br />76 <br />OldBusiness <br />77 <br />78 <br />a.Essay Contest <br />79 <br />80 <br />Commissioner Christiansen thanked Ms. Curti for identifying the top 12 scores. She <br />81 <br />recommending keeping the Excel spreadsheet created by Commissioner Carey for scoring the <br />82 <br />essays for future use. She asked if the Commission should use the top three scores for first, <br />83 <br />second, and third place. <br />84 <br />85 <br />Chair Groff agreed this would be how the Commission would identify the first threeplaces. <br />86 <br />87 <br />Commissioner Christiansen suggested identifying twoHonorable Mentions so there would be <br />88 <br />five readers for the ceremony. <br />89 <br />90 <br /> <br />
