The tax numbers will then be divided by the values no- <br />ticed to property owners and that will determine the proposed tax for 2017. The <br />tax statements will go out after November 10, 2016, and the City will have con- <br />tinuing budget discussions between now and the end of the year so a number of <br />opportunities will come forward for input. The final budget will be considered for <br />adoption at the December 5, 2016. <br /> <br />Councilmember McGehee stated she has a proposal to save $2 million to $3 mil- <br />lion in the tax supported levy. She stated she will provide that documentation to <br />Mr. Trudgeon and asked the Council to consider this information at the October <br />17, 2016, Work Session. <br /> <br /> <br />b.Adopt a 2017 Preliminary EDA Tax Levy <br />Finance Director Chris Miller referenced the RCA and summary provided for the <br />2017 preliminary EDA tax levy dated September 12, 2016, and related attach- <br />ments. Mr. Miller advised this is the same information considered at the August <br />29, 2016, meeting for a levy of $356,585. This is a not-to-exceed levy and it is <br />expected the Council will have at least one other conversation relating to it be- <br />tween now and the end of the year. <br /> <br />Mayor Roe offered the opportunity for public input on the proposed 2017 EDA <br />budget and levy prior to Council action.
