Human Rights Commission Minutes <br />October 19, 2016Draft Minutes <br />Page 4of6 <br />Commissioner Slade moved and Commissioner Dailey seconded a motion to provide ongoing <br />136 <br />involvement with the RAHS One World multi-cultural event and to promote other cultural <br />137 <br />events sponsored through RAHS. Motion passed unanimously. <br />138 <br />139 <br />f.Potential Collaboration with Ramsey County Library Race: The Power of an <br />140 <br />Illusion <br />141 <br />Ms. Curti stated the Library has programming in January and February that focus on race and <br />142 <br />they would like the Commission to partner with them and assist with promoting the events. <br />143 <br />They are looking at doing a showing of the three-partRace: The Power of an Ill <br />144 <br />March or April. There is a $50 licensing for this series and this may be a potential cost that the <br />145 <br />Commission may be asked to cover. She does not have specific information on the <br />146 <br />programming the Library has planned for early 2017 but she willprovide this information to the <br />147 <br />Commission at the November meeting for further discussion. <br />148 <br />149 <br />Chair Groff suggested asking Do Good Roseville to let attendees of their showing of this film <br />150 <br />series know that it would be shown again in the spring of 2017. <br />151 <br />152 <br />Ms.Curti stated she would let the Library know that the Commission would like to move <br />153 <br />The <br />154 <br />Library has suggested the Roseville HRC also partner with the Shoreview HRC for thisfilm <br />155 <br />series. <br />156 <br />157 <br />Commissioner Eichenlaubmadea motion to partner with the Library and to direct staff to <br />158 <br />contact the Shoreview HRC and request they partner with the Roseville HRC for the showing of <br />159 <br />160 <br />161 <br />Commissioner Carey stated she thought there was an honorarium that would need to be paid <br />162 <br />along with the $50 licensing fee. She asked if this was something the Commission would have <br />163 <br />to pay. <br />164 <br />165 <br />Chair Groff stated an honorarium is usually paid by the sponsors and/or co-sponsors of an event. <br />166 <br />The Commission will need to discuss their monetary support at a future meeting. <br />167 <br />168 <br />Commissioner Peterson seconded the motion on the table. Motion passed unanimously. <br />169 <br />170 <br />Ms. Curti asked if the Commission would want to co-sponsor orpromote the Do Good Roseville <br />171 <br />showing of the film series that would be starting in November. <br />172 <br />173 <br />Commissioner Slade suggested promoting the event at this time with the potential to co-sponsor <br />174 <br />at a future time. <br />175 <br />176 <br />Commissioner Carey stated the Commission shouldmake sure that the events they are <br />177 <br />supporting and promoting are moving in the direction the City is moving in. If the Commission <br />178 <br />is going to co-sponsorevents,then the Commission would need to be more involved with the <br />179 <br />planning to ensure the event is in <br />180 <br /> <br />
