Human Rights Commission Minutes <br />November 16, 2016 – Minutes <br />Page 3 of 6 <br /> <br />Commissioner Dailey stated she would find out what promotion opportunities were available <br />through NAMI. <br /> <br />Mr. Trudgeon stated the City would also send out information through City Council <br />announcements, Twitter, Facebook, and other sources the City uses to promote events. <br /> <br />Commissioner Carey asked if they could reach out to other City groups that put out newsletters. <br /> <br />Mr. Trudgeon stated staff could look into this and will post something at the Senior Center. <br /> <br />Commissioner Peterson asked if they would have people register for the event. <br /> <br />Commissioner Slade suggested Commissioner Dailey check with NAMI if they would require <br />this. <br /> <br />Commissioner Dailey stated they had not requested people register for the event. <br /> <br /> <br />b.Update of Imagine Roseville Community Conversation <br />Mr. Trudgeon stated the next event would be December 1 at the Roseville Area High School. <br />This will be a continuation of the last conversation in October. They will have discussion topics <br />around race, community and getting to know your neighbor. They would like people to talk <br />together and come up with solutions. There were 200 people at the first event. <br /> <br />Commissioner Carey stated the Commission had talked about putting information on resources <br />on the City’s website such as police policy and videos from the events. This had not been done <br />yet. She asked who the Commission would contact. <br /> <br />Mr. Trudgeon stated the City would be developing an Imagine Roseville page on the website and <br />these types of resources would be included in this. <br /> <br /> <br />c.Collaboration with Roseville Area High School <br /> <br />Chair Groff stated Carolyn Ellis, Carolyn Curti, Commissioner Slade, and he had met to discuss <br />the multicultural event they host in the spring. This is a student driven event and fits in with <br />what the City Council has asked the Commission to do. <br /> <br />Commissioner Slade stated they do a presentation in the auditorium and they then go to the <br />cafeteria for food and crafts. They will be contacting Youth Commissioner Hansel. <br /> <br />Chair Groff stated they would like to have the Commission promote the event and assist with <br />setting up. They would also like to have the HRC have a booth at the event to let people know <br />what they do. <br /> <br />Chair Groff asked Mr. Trudgeon if it would be appropriate to offer some financial support. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
