Trucks are ordered <br />in the spring for summer delivery. Pricing has <br />escalated due to the cost of EPA compliant engines <br />and increased cost of components. <br />Relationship to General Plan and Other Projects: <br /> <br />These replacements are consistent with the city’s Vehicle <br />Replacement Guide. <br /> <br /> <br />Effect on Annual Operations Costs: <br /> <br />Replacements can reduce repair costs by approximately <br />$2,000 per year for the first five years following purchase. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Description: <br /> <br />These purchases anticipate the scheduled 15- <br />year replacement of 21 dump trucks in the <br />city’s fleet. Replacement costs include the <br />chassis, dump body, hydraulics and snow <br />equipment (plow, wing and sander). Dump <br />boxes are refurbished after eight years at a <br />cost of $5,000. <br /> <br />Item #4: Attachment A
