on the matter is expected to begin in the very near future, as confirmed <br />by Mr. Trudgeon with Mayor Roe earlier today. <br /> <br />Commissioner Manke nominated Vice Chair Holub to serve; with the <br />nomination accepted by Vice Chair Holub. <br /> <br />Motion <br />Commissioner Manke moved, Commissioner Tomlinson <br />seconded, appointment of Vice Chair Holub to serve as a CEC <br />representative to work with the City Council subcommittee on <br />the formation of a combined advisory commission of the CEC and <br />HRC. <br /> <br />Vice Chair Holub nominated Commissioner Manke to serve; with the <br />nomination accepted by Commissioner Manke. <br /> <br />Motion <br />Vice Chair Holub moved, Commissioner Tomlinson seconded, <br />appointment of Commissioner Manke to serve as a CEC <br />representative to work with the City Council subcommittee on <br />the formation of a combined advisory commission of the CEC and <br />HRC. <br /> <br />At the request of Commissioner Sparby, City Manager Trudgeon <br />provided additional detail of the purpose of these representatives in <br />providing their input to the City Council subcommittee, consisting of <br />Mayor Roe and Councilmember Laliberte, in creating the new scope and <br />duties for the combined group, and where they overlap between the <br />HRC and CEC, to closely align the work of what each separate advisory <br />commission is currently doing. In the case of the HRC when it was <br />created, Mr. Trudgeon noted that it currently operates much differently <br />with its activities under a different purpose. Mr. Trudgeon noted that <br />the goal of the combined group was to focus on and balance the <br />volunteer advisors for the most benefit of the community. At that time, <br />Mr. Trudgeon advised that the subcommittee’s recommendation would <br />be brought to the full City Council for their review, consideration and <br />formal action creating a new advisory commission. <br /> <br />Commissioner Manke noted the intent of representatives of both the <br />CEC and HRC was to bring thoughts forward to the subcommittee to <br />avoid a quorum of either of the groups in that process. <br /> <br />At the request of Vice Chair Holub, City Manager Trudgeon clarified that <br />a quorum of the current CEC membership would constitute three. <br /> <br />Commissioner Sparby nominated himself to work with Mayor Roe and <br />Councilmember Laliberte, based on his work on CEC goals that he <br />opined would be helpful to the process. <br /> <br />With further clarification sought by Commissioner Manke, City Manager <br />Trudgeon advised that three would not constitute a quorum of the CEC, <br />with the current vacancies; but at the end of April when the City Council <br /> <br />
