Regular City Council Meeting <br /> Monday, October 23,2017 <br /> Page 21 <br /> Councilmember McGehee agreed with the Planning Commission to leave it as In- <br /> dustrial, given the location across the railroad tracks and utility lines that would <br /> remain. <br /> Councilmember Laliberte stated her reluctant agreement with leaving it as Indus- <br /> trial designation even though the corridor could be so much more. <br /> Mayor Roe suggested some type of Employment use would fit better for future <br /> guidance; opining it wasn't a good location for Industrial designation in the city; <br /> and further opined that future discussion may occur with the railroad and consoli- <br /> dation of access, even though the power lines would likely remain. <br /> Councilmember Willmus agreed with Mayor Roe, opining that the future may in- <br /> dicate something different that the current rail corridor, especially since this is a <br /> plan looking forward. Councilmember Willmus referenced the Hamline Ave- <br /> nue/County Road C office townhomes that had been in a similar situation. <br /> Councilmember Etten stated that he leaned toward employment designation; <br /> agreeing that the site had some struggles, but also abutted single-family homes <br /> with a need for balance and getting away from industrial designation. <br /> With council member majority, staff was directed to make this area Employment <br /> designation, rather than the Planning Commission's recommendation to leave it as <br /> Industrial. <br /> SITE 6: 2315 Chatsworth Street <br /> Without objection, council members agreed with the Planning Commission <br /> change to Low Density Residential. <br /> SITE 7: 2360 Lexington Avenue <br /> Without objection, council members agreed with the Planning Commission <br /> change to Neighborhood Mixed Use. <br /> SITE 8:1880 Lexington Avenue <br /> Without objection, council members disagreed with the Planning Commission's <br /> recommendation to change this to Medium-Density Residential; instead directing <br /> its designation for Low-Density Residential. <br /> Without objection, council members agreed with the Planning Commission <br /> change to MDR. <br /> SITE 9: Unaddressed Parcel in SE Corner of County Road C and Dale Street <br /> Without objection, council members disagreed with the Planning Commission's <br /> recommendation to leave this as HDR; instead directing its designation for MDR. <br /> SITE 10: 2533 —2609 Snelling Curve <br />
