Discuss Possible Amendments to Real Estate Signs as Identified in City Code,
Chapter 1010 (Sign Regulations)
Community Development Director Collins summarized the requested additional
direction for staff, following the previous discussion in September, for review and
revision of Chapter 1010 — Sign Regulations, as detailed in the staff report. At
that time, staff was directed to seek additional information from area realtors; re-
sulting in the responses received and included in the report; as well as an addi-
tional response from the Saint Paul Area Association of Realtors in their letter to
the city dated October 16, 2017. Ms. Collins noted additional feedback received
through NextDoor.com; provided as a bench handout, attached hereto and made
apart hereof.
Having initially brought this amendment forward, Councilmember Willmus spoke
in support of proposed revisions regarding open house signs for their location up
to 1 mile rather than %2 mile from a subject parcel; and not addressing directional
signage at this time.
