technology also reduces infiltration of groundwater into the system and can be credited <br />toward current and future inflow/ infiltration surcharges which are mandated by the <br />Metropolitan Council. In 2017 approximately 6.0 miles of sanitary pipe are schedule to be <br />lined. The location of this work varies and is spread throughout the City based on system <br />priority. <br />Pipe Replacements/Repairs: Staff evaluates sanitary and water main replacement needs in <br />our pavement replacement areas as well as utility infrastructure needs in County and State <br />project areas. Those replacements are being identified from recent utility inspections and <br />adjustments to the plan will be communicated to the Council at a later date. To date, city <br />staff has identified watermain replacements in the following locations: <br />• Sandhurst Dr, Dellwood Ave — Fernwood Ave <br />• Crescent Ln, Cohansey Blvd — Irene St <br />• Eldridge Ave, Cohansey Ave — Western Ave <br />• N McCarrons Blvd, Giesmann St—Marion St <br />• Hand St, Elmer St — Burke Ave <br />Staff is evaluating replacing a 400 foot segment of sanitary sewer system along the east shore <br />of Lake Owasso off of Heinel Drive. <br />Lift Station: The Lounge Sanitary Sewer Lift Station, located at County Road C2 and <br />Lincoln Ave, will be rehabbed in 2018. The lift station was constructed in 1989. The <br />forcemain for this lift station will also be replaced at this time. <br />Staff will begin the design process to rehab the Fernwood Street Lift Station located near <br />Fernwood St and Larpentuer Avenue. This lift station was built in 1956 and needs updates to <br />the pumps, controls and the building itself. <br />Storm sewer system improvements: Staff continues to analyze the existing drainage <br />systems and localized flooding issues and is identifying mitigation projects. Staff is now <br />working on developing a 2018 drainage improvement project to alleviate some of these <br />flooding concerns. Staff has already identified several projects for 2018. Some of the <br />projects include: <br />Pavement Management Storm Water Upgrades: As part of the pavement <br />management project staff is looking at replacing or adding infrastructure to areas <br />that have had flooding issues. <br />o Staff will be working with the Capitol Region Watershed to install Rain <br />Gardens near the McCarron Lake area as part of a targeted watershed grant <br />Storm Sewer Lining: Two large storm sewer pipes will be lined to correct some <br />structural deficiencies. The locations are County Road B just west of Victoria and <br />near Parker Ave and Avon St. <br />Valley Park Basins: The upper storm water basin in Valley Park is failing. The <br />existing berm is constructed of poor material allowing the pond water to seep the <br />berm causing it to fail. The entire pond will plan to be reconstructed. <br />Central Park Storm: Staff will be developing a plan to replace a large diameter <br />
