However, Councilmember Etten agreed that the team needed <br /> to get something done. <br /> City Manager Trudgeon clarified that he wasn't suggesting that the city offer a <br /> specific bill, but simply its support to increase transportation funding, keeping it <br /> broad and general versus specific. <br /> With this draft statement of support, Councilmember Laliberte noted that the city <br /> did support additional transportation funding; and suggested deleting the remain- <br /> der of that sentence. <br /> Without objection, staff was so directed. <br /> Mayor Roe noted that the city fielded a number of complaints about various trans- <br /> it modes in and through Roseville. <br /> Presumptive Coverage for Firefighters Diagnosed with Cancer(page 34) <br /> As detailed in the draft narrative, City Manager Trudgeon noted the local chal- <br /> lenge in Roseville for funding workers compensation claims. <br /> Discussion ensued regarding the timing of cancer diagnoses and how that impact- <br /> ed the city beyond workers compensation provisions with reference to draft legis- <br /> lation (page 37, section 2.31) addressing claims up to five years after firefighter <br /> retirement; which cancer types are occupation-related versus those prevalent in <br /> the general population; and cancers found during employment or arising out of or <br /> related to that employment(page 34). <br /> City Manager Trudgeon advised that he would review the draft legislation more <br /> and report back at the final presentation, but opined this was intended to revolve <br /> more around workers compensation. <br /> With the city having its own risk management consultants, Mayor Roe suggested <br /> obtaining input from them for potential language. <br /> Additional Comments <br /> County Economic Development Authorities (EDA) <br /> At the request of Councilmember Laliberte, City Manager Trudgeon clarified that <br /> specific state statute required any county EDA to follow it to notify cities prior to <br /> moving forward. <br /> Property Tax Statements <br /> Councilmember Laliberte suggested that, since the timing of school referendums <br /> may conflict with the timing of tax statements and not include those dollars, the <br />
