Private Storm Water Facilities: Allprivate storm water facilities shall be maintained in <br />proper condition consistent with the performance standards for which they were originally <br />designed All settled materials from ponds, sumps, grit chambers, and other devices, <br />including settled solids, shall be removed and properly disposed of on a five year interval. <br />One to five year waivers from this requirement may be granted by the city engineer when <br />the owner presents evidence that the facility has additional capacity to remove settled solids <br />in accordance with the original design capacity. <br />S. Inventory of Private Storm Water Facilities: Upon adoption ofthis chapter, the city <br />engineer shall inventory and maintain a data basis for all private storm water facilities <br />requiring maintenance to assure compliance with this section. (Ord 1239, 4-24-2000) <br />Proposed Maintenance Languaae: Produced for - Northland Nonpoint Education for <br />Municipal Officials (MEMO) Program <br />Maintenance of Stormwater Facilities. The City requires that stormwater facilities be <br />maintained. <br />1. Private Stormwater Facilities - All private stormwater facilities shall be maintained in <br />roper condition consistent with the performance standards for which they were <br />originally designed.h 4 <br />a. Ponds, Stormwater Wetlands, and other devices <br />i. Removal of settled materials - All settled materials from ponds, sumps, <br />grit chambers, and other devices, including settled solids, shall be <br />removed and properly disposed of on a five (5) year interval. Infiltration, Filtration, Underground Storage, and other Water Quality devices <br />i. Monthly inspections of the Private Stormwater Facilities and, if <br />necessary, removal of all litter, debris, sediment, and replacement of <br />mulch, vegetation, and eroded areas to ensure establishment of healthy <br />functioning plafftli€eplant life therein; and <br />ii. An annual inspection, and certification, by a qualified individual l[Ls21or <br />company acceptable to the City that the Stormwater Facilities are <br />functioning in accordance with the approved plans and have <br />maintained the proper operation of the stormwater treatment as a <br />Stormwater Management Facility according to the City Standards. <br />The annual inspection and certification will be sent to the City for <br />approval. <br />
