Ongoing Topics <br />7. <br />a.Education Primer for Parks and Recreation <br />Chair Gelbach and Vice Chair O’Brien have been working on a “primer” for <br />current and future Commissioners. This is an education tool to assist new <br />and existing Commission members with history and knowledge. You have <br />commented onprevious drafts. <br />Draft number fiveis included in your packetfor a finalreview, comment <br />and inputto complete your goal of completing by April 1, 2018. It is to be a <br />living document and adjusted as appropriate. <br />At your last meeting, you reviewed and confirmed a biographical <br />information form(included)for commission members to complete and <br />submit bysending it to staff prior to this meeting or bring it to the meeting. <br />Gelbach and O’Brien will lead this itemat the meeting. Thanks to both for <br />coordinating theeffort that will be very beneficial for sitting Commissioners <br />and for the onboarding of new Commissioners. <br />Requested Commission Action:Review, comment and consider <br />approving. <br />b.Discuss Naming Policy and Procedure <br />Included in your packet is Operating Policy #40 – Assigning Names to City <br />Facilities.Thiswill be a guide over the next several months as you begin <br />to consider recommending a name for the Marion Street and Cleveland <br />Avenue sites. Staff will provide an overview of the policy. <br />Requested Commission Action:Review and discuss. <br />c.Cedarholm Community Building Replacement Update <br />The construction of the Cedarholm Community Building continues and at <br />this point remains on schedule. The building enclosure continues. <br />Ordering of furniture and equipmentis in progress. <br />The operational plan is continuing. Reservations can be made beginning <br />March 5. <br />Staff will plan to provide youwith the latest update at your meeting. <br />This topic is a regular agenda item each month in order to keep the <br />Commission updated, gather advice andallow for continued community <br />input. <br />Requested Commission Action:Review, update, provide feedback <br />Staff Report - <br />8.
