The calls go unanswered, or the crew scoots to the next call when Allina ar- rives. He knows this presentation is only scratching the surface. He stated he anticipates coming back to Council many times during the budget deci- sion-making time and breaking down the statistics and the 4 pillars. That will be into the fall and into this time next year. Councilmember Etten asked about the required staffing. The 4 pillars sound awesome,but he would rather focus on staffing first. Fire Chief O'Neill stated he will bring that data to the Council. Councilmember McGehee stated this might be a good opportunity to talk with the community about radon, as part of the FD's educational efforts. Mayor Roe commented there are great ideas about starting outreach, and it might be worth it to check in with the HRIEC as far as targeting audience members who maybe are not part of the groups on the schedule. He asked the Chief O'Neill to also reach out to the Finance Commission and ask for their review. The Council concurred with that direction. Mayor Roe asked whether Edina has an ambulance service. Fire Chief O'Neill responded affirmatively, noting that financial infor- mation is factored out of the bar graph presented in the Council packet. Mayor Roe He asked for a footnote showing the Edina figure does not in- clude the ambulance service. He also asked for an explanation on the bar graph showing the FD budget now and proposed budget in 2022. Mayor Roe offered an opportunity for public comment. Public Comment John Murray, Roseville Finance Commission Mr. Murray asked about the difference between mutual assistance and au- to aid. Assistant Fire Chief Brosnahan responded that automatic aid is started au- tomatically at the Ramsey County dispatch center, whereas mutual aid is special request from the receiving agency.
