City of Roseville Pathway Master Plan <br /> <br />b)partnering with Active Living Ramsey County on comprehensive County <br />pathway mapping <br />3)Trail Heads and Rest Area <br />a)utilizes existing parks w/ restrooms, picnic areas, recreational areas, drinking <br />fountains <br />b)need intermittent rest stops with benches between destinations <br />4)Transit Accommodations <br />a)abundant transit opportunities <br />b)limited and often unsafe pedestrian access to transit stops and park and rides <br />c)bus shelters at bus stops along high traffic roads <br />d)bus benches at many bus stops <br />CurrentOperation&MaintenancePractices <br />Off-Road Pathways <br />The Parks and Recreation Department and its maintenance staff has the responsibility <br />of making sure routine maintenance operations are completed. On occasion they will <br />request assistance from the street maintenance staff. <br /> <br />Listed below are the maintenance operations performed for the City’s off-road <br />pathways. <br /> <br />Plowing: Remove any accumulation promptly and continuously until cleared. <br />Accumulation of two inches or more shall be removed within 24 hrs. <br />Sweeping: Sweep three times annually, spring, summer and fall, or when safety <br />is of concern. <br />Sealing/ Patching: Fill cracks or holes as they occur. <br />On-Road Pathways <br />The Public Works Department and its maintenance staff are responsible for the <br />maintenance of the on-road pathway facilities on City of Roseville streets. Listed below <br />are the maintenance operations performed for the City’s on-road pathways. <br /> <br />Plowing: When there is an accumulation of two inches or more of snow it will be <br />removed within 24 hrs. <br />Ice control: apply ice control when ice or snow adheres to the pathway. <br />Sweeping: Sweep three times annually, spring, summer and fall, or when safety <br />is of concern. <br />Sealing/ Patching: Fill cracks or holes as they occur. <br />On-Road pathways located on County Roads are maintained by Ramsey County. <br /> <br />Page 17 <br /> <br />
