The city is divided into three (3) districts
and depending on manpower scheduled for a certain shift, the
supervisor assigns patrol areas within the three permanent dis-
tricts.
The 1986 Calls for Service were 15,370--up 4 percent from 1985.
New construction on the City's west end is expected to continue
increasing Calls for Service. Pavilion Place and Loehmann's
Plaza, both not fully occupied, accounted for 258 calls in 1986.
To counter the rise in commercial crime, Roseville Police
started a commercial patrol unit for 1987. This officer works
with retail stores and retail security officers in arresting
offenders, and crime prevention. He has recovered almost $7,000
in stolen property in the first two months of 1987.
Officers are spending more time in and with the community to
establish better understanding and cooperation between the
Police and Roseville citizens.
The twenty-five (25) patrol officers are responsible for the
enforcement of Federal and State Laws, and City Ordinances;
investigations of incidents, traffic accidents and crimes (pre-
liminary and follow-up); protection of life and property; crime
prevention; and community relations.
EXPENDITURE COMMENTS:
A. Personal Services is up to reflect the addition of one full-
time Patrol Officer, and two 3/4 time Community Service
Officers.
13

r'
