This <br />chanqe helped increase calls for service from 16,B00 in 1969 to <br />18,5B5 in 1990 (1,323 calls to Falcon Heights). In 1990 a Drug <br />Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) officer. The DARE officer <br />' teaches all 6th grades in District 623. <br />The thirty-two (32) patrol officers and five (5) sergeants are <br />responsible for the enforcement of Federal and State Laws and <br />City Ordinances; investigations of incidents, traffic accidents <br />and crimes (preliminary and follow-up); protection of life and <br />property; crime prevention; community relations; and background <br />checks for charitable gambling and liquor license applications. <br />Officers are trying to spend more time in and with the community <br />to establish better understanding and cooperation between the <br />Police and the citizens of Roseville and Falcon Heights. <br />E%PENDITURE COMMENTS: <br />No significant changes. <br />C�f 3 <br />
