To protect public and individual health, safety, and well <br />being through enforcement of Roseville`s Animal Control <br />ordinancea to promote proper animal care and control, and to <br />assist the Police and other City departmenta. <br />2. To asaiat in all areas of the Police Department to enable <br />sworn staff to concentrate their time and efforts on tasks <br />requiring licensed Police Officers. <br />ACTIVITY: <br />1. The Roseville Animal Control Program is operated by five <br />(5) part-time Community Service Officers (CSO) who respond to <br />calls, and patrol the city looking for animal ordinance <br />violations. Impounded, stray, and dead animals are brought <br />to the Brighton Veterinary Hospital. <br />2. The CSOs also perform administrative work such as help with <br />the Police auction, conduct traffic surveys, ete. <br />3. The CSOs also assist Patrol and Investigative officers on <br />various dutiea that do not require a licensed police officer. <br />Duties such as bike theft reports, some citizen assists, and <br />tagging for fire lane and handicap violations can now be <br />handled by the CSOs. <br />Expenditure Comments: <br />No significant changes. <br />C -15 <br />
