Regular City Council Meeting <br /> Monday, October 8, 2018 <br /> Page 7 <br /> Mr. Brokke stated the City has contracted out the concession stand to a third party <br /> before, a private group, and also had various associations take it over as well. <br /> McGehee moved, Etten seconded, authorizing the Mayor and the City Manager to <br /> enter into a professional services agreement with the Roseville Area Youth Hock- <br /> ey Association (RAYHA) for the operation of the concession stands at the Rose- <br /> ville Skating Center at an annual lease amount of$12,500 as presented. <br /> Council Discussion <br /> Councilmember McGehee indicated she was satisfied with the arrangement for <br /> the next year and thought there was an in-house understood policy being used but <br /> it could be written down in a more formal way. <br /> Roll Call <br /> Ayes: Willmus, Laliberte, Etten, McGehee and Roe. <br /> Nays: None. <br /> b. Approve Seasonal Storage Lease Agreement <br /> At the request of Councilmember McGehee, City Manager Trudgeon briefly high- <br /> lighted this item as detailed in the Request for Council Action (RCA) and related <br /> attachments dated October 8, 2018. <br /> Councilmember McGehee stated this is another planning issue. The City has <br /> known about the storage needs for some time and have had options to purchase <br /> buildings and built buildings where the City could have put on some storage. She <br /> would like to understand what the Council thinks. She stated the City had a build- <br /> ing on the Hagen property which was lost to the construction of the last leg of <br /> Twin Lakes Parkway. The City was using the Fairview Firestation for storage <br /> and put that under options all the time knowing the City had inadequate storage.. <br /> The clubhouse was built at the golf course and the parks buildings and did not at <br /> any time do anything to think about the storage needs the City had. When and <br /> how is this going to all fit together? She wondered if the City should do this lease <br /> agreement or purchase a building that suits the City storage needs. She thought <br /> this was fine as a short-term solution. <br /> Mayor Roe offered an opportunity for public comment. <br /> Public Comment <br /> Mr. Roger Hess,Jr., 1906 Wagner Place <br /> Mr. Hess stated lately rents have been going up a huge amount for warehouses. <br /> The City has received a good rent rate for this storage.
