Regular City Council Meeting <br /> Monday, December 3, 2018 <br /> Page 13 <br /> Assistant City Manager Rebecca Olson stated currently it is only set as a lieuten- <br /> ant position. <br /> Councilmember McGehee asked if the Assistant Chief also an exempt position. <br /> Ms. Olson indicated that was correct. It is exempt and appointed. <br /> Councilmember Willmus asked if the vacant lieutenant's position need to be elim- <br /> inated. <br /> Mr. Trudgeon stated he was not sure how the City would eliminate the position <br /> other than not funding it. <br /> Mayor Roe offered an opportunity for public comment, with no one coming for- <br /> ward. <br /> McGehee moved, Etten seconded, approval of the Deputy Chief of Police position <br /> and authorize staff to begin the process of recruiting and filling the position. <br /> Roll Call <br /> Ayes: McGehee, Willmus, Laliberte, Etten, and Roe. <br /> Nays: None <br /> h. Consider a Community Development Department request to perform an <br /> abatement of unresolved violations of City Code at 939 County Rd B2 W <br /> Building Official Dave Englund briefly highlighted this item as detailed in the <br /> RCA and related attachments dated December 3, 2018. He noted the property <br /> owner has requested an additional week to perform the work themselves before <br /> the City conducted the abatement. He indicated to the property owner it was up to <br /> the Council direction whether the Council wished to grant that extension or not. <br /> Councilmember Etten asked if the vehicle with expired tabs has been resolved al- <br /> ready. <br /> Mr. Englund stated the information he was given is that the tabs have been ap- <br /> plied for and are in the process of being purchased. He noted the vehicle appears <br /> operable except for the tabs. <br /> Mayor Roe offered an opportunity for public comment, with no one coming for- <br /> ward. <br /> Etten moved, McGehee seconded, directing Community Development staff to <br /> abate the public nuisance violations at 939 County Road B2 W by contracting the <br /> securing of the four exterior doors and contracting the removal of the items stored <br />
