Regular City Council Meeting
Monday, December 3,2018
Page 16
thought the Municipal Hotel Licensing was Roseville specific and would like to
keep that on the high priority list. He thought the State-Wide massage therapy
Licensing is felt while approving the licenses but agreed that would tend to fall in-
to the support group rather than the priority group. He would list the first five as
high priority items. He understood Councilmember McGehee's concern with the
sprinkling and the transportation issues and needs to get on the priority list which
can be amended as those come forward. In regard to the sprinkler item, there are
a lot of advocacy groups and will take some strong work by a lot of people. He
indicated the City would be supportive of that, but he was not sure if the City
should be the main group to bring that forward.
Councilmember Laliberte thought all of the items on the list are important to the
Council. Even the ones on the other priorities list are important but she was not
sure the City would be taking the lead on them because there are other entities
that will be taking the lead on several of these. She thought City support was im-
portant and emphasis that the City cares about these.
Mayor Roe suggested to list them all as City priorities and then parenthetically
add at the end of the ones that are high priority to the City that the City of Rose-
ville will take a leadership role.
Councilmember McGehee thought the ones primarily Roseville specific could be
brought forward with a resolution showing Council support.
Mayor Roe thought that was the idea going forward.
Councilmember Laliberte stated in regard to the Oval, the City wants to empha-
size that it is a regional asset. She thought the other things is that those on the
Council that have sit downs with Legislators know how to be opportunistic.
Consensus of the Council was to show the top five items on the list the priorities
for Roseville.
Councilmember Etten stated in regard to how the document should show Rose-
ville leadership is using a parenthetical reference of"Actively Lead on Legislative
Action" after the top five items. This is a potential way to demarcate those pieces
the Council is looking for. Staff to be doing things, the Council looking for op-
portunities to take that extra step of ownership on these.
Councilmember Laliberte agreed, even if the snapshot is the whole list on a single
page and then the supporting information on pages after that. She thought the five
could be bold or red, without a number or without implying that it is more im-
portant then something else on the list.
