Regular City Council Meeting
Monday, December 3, 2018
Page 3
Councilmember Willmus stated he and Councilmember McGehee came on the City
Council at the same time in 2010 and he has had the pleasure to work alongside Coun-
cilmember McGehee. He stated surprisingly he found both to be in agreement on a num-
ber of different items and he thought the effort and background research Councilmember
McGehee does for the Council are excellent and the City is better served for it. He stated
he appreciated the opportunity he has had to work alongside Councilmember McGehee
through the years.
Councilmember Laliberte echoed much of what has been said. She stated when she came
onto the City Council in 2013, Councilmember McGehee was very welcoming and help-
ful in getting her up to speed. She has always appreciated the homework Councilmember
that McGehee has done on issues and the questions asked. She stated she has been happy
to support Councilmember McGehee in asking for something to be looked at in more de-
tail. She stated it has been an honor to serve with Councilmember McGehee and thanked
her for her service.
Councilmember Etten echoed the comments and indicated he met Councilmember
McGehee while he was on the Park and Recreation Commission and thought Coun-
cilmember McGehee helped mold the park renewal program, which was an important
start. Councilmember Etten indicated he and Councilmember McGehee may not always
have agreed but the things moved forward were changed because of her input. He appre-
ciated all of the time Councilmember McGehee has put into each item and the 2040 plan.
He stated Councilmember McGehee has helped make the City better.
6. Items Removed from Consent Agenda
a. Langton Place Public Improvement Contract Approval
City Manager Patrick Trudgeon briefly highlighted this item as detailed in the
RCA and related attachments dated December 3, 2018. He noted this item was
pulled from the Consent Agenda because staff failed to include an assessment
agreement as part of the attachments. He reviewed the assessment agreement
with the Council.
Mayor Roe asked if this was an assessment value for the sidewalk project in per-
petuity so if the sidewalk project is not done for another fifty years the developer
will still be assessed at $5,850 or is there a mechanism to deal with that.
City Engineer Jesse Freihammer stated the City does have a twenty-five percent
contingency on that and should get the City through what is needed to construct
the sidewalk.
Mayor Roe offered an opportunity for public comment, with no one coming for-
ward.
Etten moved, McGehee seconded, approving the Langton Place Public Improve-
ment Contract.
