Transit have been trying to work together on more of the larger projects to try to
enhance the express bus routes more and try to improve service and access and to
market those more to try to get people out of their vehicles. The park and ride in
Roseville has some capacity but is at the southern end of the project.

Chair Cihacek stated his concern is with all of the construction that will be going
on it is going to push vehicles through the residential areas of the City.

Member Misra asked what some alternative routes from Blaine are once off of
35W.

Mr. Culver stated Central Avenue/Highway 65 corri or is one of the primary routes
along with Lexington Avenue. He stated one thing he was very impressed with
MnDOT is a study that was conducted of alternative routes and how people are
going to divert away from 35W. MnDOT looked at what could be done along some
of those routes to enhance, improv capacity along those areas to help handle the
additional traffic as people are div n . He stated one mitigation effort MnDOT
is going to do which might become anent is MnDOT is going to close the
median crossing on Snelling Avenue at Hamline. MnDOT is going to close it
during this project because of mire expected traffic on Snelling but MfiDOT would
love for it to close permanently and he thought Roseville would support that
permanent full closer, but the intersection is actually in Arden Hills, so staff does
not know how that is going to play out yet.

Member Kruse asked if MnDOT has told staff which interchanges will be closed
during the project.
IREL
Mr. Freihammer stated staff will get a schedule in the next couple of months in
order to know what will be closed and in which phase it will happen.

Mr. Culver sta e Ci some ground rules that MnDOT cannot close County
Road C and Co Roa t the same time. There are some limitations on
MnDOT staging.

Mr. Freihammer sh the current construction of the Fernwood lift station.

Mr. Culver st ted staff went back and forth as far as what is the right thing. There
are certainly some advantages from a maintenance perspective of having a building
and working on the pumps and such. It does make getting to the pumps more
difficult and managing and maintaining the wet well is more difficult with the
building structure. He said the new design cleans up the area and improves the
sight distance for turning onto Fernwood.

Mr. Freihammer stated it is cheaper to go this route as well because the building
does not need to be rebuilt.
