REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br /> Date: 03/18/2019 <br /> Item No.: 7d. <br />Department Approval City Manager Approval <br /> <br />Item Description:Discuss2019-20 Policy Priority Planning Document <br /> <br />1 B ACKGROUND <br />2 At the February 25, 2019 meeting, the City Council reviewed the 2017-2018 Policy Priority Planning <br />3 (PPP) document and discussed new priorities for 2019 and 2020. Minutes from that meeting are <br />4 included as Attachment A. The City Council discussed keeping, removing, and adding certain priorities <br />5 and initiatives. As a result of that conversation, the City Manager organized the document to have five <br />6 strategic priorities; Economic Development; Inclusive Community and Governance; Capital <br />7 Improvements; Housing; and Environmental Sustainability. Under each strategic priority, strategic <br />8 initiatives are listed. Some initiatives are new and some have been modified and/or carried over from <br />9 2017-18 PPP. The draft 2019-2020 strategic priorities and initiatives are as follows: <br />10 <br />11 Economic Development Strategic Initiatives <br />12 Foster Twin Lakes Redevelopment <br />13 Facilitate City-wide Economic Development <br />14 Implement Rice/Larpenteur Alliance Plan <br />15 Inclusive Community and Governance <br />16 Continue Imagine Roseville Efforts and follow through with outcomes <br />17 Adopt Racial Equity Plan <br />18 Capital Improvements <br />19 Increase Pedestrian Connectivity and Safety <br />20 Improve Stormwater Facilities <br />21 Housing <br />22 Meet housing needs of all (Affordability, Availability, Housing Style/Type, Market Needs) <br />23 Environmental Sustainability <br />24 Reduce Carbon Footprint <br />25 Increase Green Step City Step Certification Level <br />26 Please note that this document is just a starting point for discussion. What is represented in the draft <br />27 2019-20 PPP is based on discussion on February 25. The City Council should have a discussion on <br />28 whether everything that is listed on the draft should remain and what other priorities and initiatives <br />29 should be listed. <br />30 <br />Page 1 of 2 <br /> <br />
