Regular City Council Meeting
Monday, May 20,2019
Page 7
Councilmember Laliberte indicated she was very interested in serving on this
board, commenting that NYFS does important work. She knew the City Council
was engaged with this organization and knew that would continue. She thought
she had some specific background and experience right now that would be benefi-
cial to the NYFS organization. She has recently been through a non-profit
board's executive director search, and Mayor Roe being on the sub-committee for
that would allow her to learn how to go to the point of the hiring process and the
onboarding process for a new executive director. Laliberte highlighted her back-
ground in healthcare, understanding there is always a challenge with mental
health insurance company reimbursements and hoped she could help in that ca-
pacity.
Groff moved, Roe seconded, appointing Laliberte to the Northeast Youth and
Family Services Board of Directors.
Council Discussion
Councilmember Groff thought that Councilmember Laliberte has good experience
and is important for the City to have representation on this board.
Mayor Roe noted this is an opportunity to serve that typically members of the
Council do not shy away from. He thought everyone on the Council has been
very supportive of NYFS Organization over the years and will continue to do so.
He appreciated Councilmember Laliberte's comments regarding her experience in
the healthcare field, stating that will be very important going forward.
Roll Call
Ayes: Laliberte, Groff, and Roe.
Nays: None
g.
