36 worked with a city volunteer to create monthly display cases for proclamations. <br />37 Drafted and conducted a survey of city departments to learn about current city engagement <br />38 and outreach efforts. <br />39 Researched and drafteda Best Practices document that can be used by city staff and council <br />40 when considering and conducting engagement and outreach in the commuity. <br />41 Began discussion on the second “phase” of theEngagement Project (this is the Outreach) <br />42 piece. <br />43 Drafted recruitment materials for HRIEC youth commissioners, including developing a <br />44 “position description” and marketing materials. <br />45 <br />46 Engagement Project <br />47 One of the major projects the Commission has undertaken over the past 1 ½ years,based on <br />48 direction from council,is their Engagement Project. At the July 9, 2018 Council meeting, the <br />49 HRIEC presented their two-prong approach to address Council’s desire to better engage <br />50 underrepresented groups within the city.
