80 Vice-Chair Hoag proposed recommending the cash in lieu of land dedication in the <br />81 amount of $128,908 to the City Council. Commissioner Newby seconded. Motion passed <br />82 unanimously. <br />83 <br />84 b) 2720 FAIRVIEW AVENUE <br />85 2720 Fairview is a proposal for a 6.23 acre mixed use development. The proposal is to <br />86 split the 6.23 acres into two to allow for a 40,000 sq. ft. medical office building on the <br />87 2.77-acre southern parcel and a five story, 127-unit apartment building on the 2.93-acre <br />88 northern parcel. The project qualifies for Park Dedication. The cash amount for the 127 <br />89 additional units would be $508,000 ($4,000 per unit). The land amount would be 10% of <br />90 the 2.77 acres or .27 acre. This area is located in Constellation B. The Parks and <br />91 Recreation System Master Plan does not identify specific parcels in this area for <br />92 acquisition. The developer is proposing outdoor amenities for residents including a pool, <br />93 sport court, dog park and playground for residents. <br />94 <br />95 Commissioner Newby questioned what the connectivity plan is to the three nearest parks. <br />96 Staff responded that Parks and Recreation is working with Public Works to create safe <br />97 connections to the parks and that connectivity is always a consideration. <br />98 <br />99 Vice-Chair Hoag proposed recommending the cash in lieu of land dedication in the <br />100 amount of $508,000 to the City Council. Motion passed <br />101 unanimously. <br />102 <br />103 6) FOLLOW UP TO CITY COUNCIL JOINT MEETING <br />104 The Commission discussed the deer reduction program and the future expectations of the <br />105 City Council. Staff relayed that they have met with the Department of Natural Resources <br />106 (DNR) and the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) on what a reasonable <br />107 reduction number would be for this year. Based on the current population estimates the DNR <br />108 and USDA suggested that based on science and the numbers the population could be reduced <br />109 by 50-55. In addition, they suggested to still target females and antlerless but to also take <br />110 some males. <br />111 <br />112 Commissioner Stoner asked what the longer term maintenance plan would look like. Staff <br />113 stated that it would be based on the most current survey. <br />114 <br />115 Staff suggested and the Commission agreed to put deer reduction on the agenda for the <br />116 September Parks and Recreation Commission meeting to be sure people are aware it is being <br />117 discussed. <br />118 <br />8 <br /> <br />
